Just an average day
It is amazing what happens when you tell the kids no computer and no TV .. they grizzle and grumble and then get on with it!
The boys were going to sleep in the tent overnight, but then it was forecast for thunderstorms over night so they changed that plan. But still, I will impressed with their activity, and yes they got their computer time!

Let’s see .. It was about 27C today, and yes Tom seems to be wearing his Batman costume underneath a t-shirt and his Zombie trouser .. why? I simply do not know .. With Tom it is often safer not to ask ..

An afternoon of excitment!
Phew, what a day …
First of all, I got a job, Development Officer for Scouts ACT Branch … argh, now I really have to get myself organised!
Then at lunch time, Jordan & I went for a visit to the highschool and had a look around. Jordan was so excited about the things that he will be doing, he just can’t wait. Which is fantastic!
After school we thought we would go to the library, Jeanette and the kids joined us, and in 5 minutes Chloe fell over and split her head open .. blood was everywhere. A bit of juggling, we take her little brother with us, and Jordan goes with them to help look after the baby. Within an hour they were back, glued head and all! We had some takeaway, a beer and fun with the kids outside!
Phew!
Oh yeah, William also brought Iggy home for the weekend, so he had to come to the library as well, and help return the books!
Then our fun this afternoon … love days like this (although could have done without the split head!)

Love school holidays!
Well at the moment I still do, maybe ask me next week but for the time being we are having fun! For starters the mornings are pretty good, the boys are old enough to entertain themselves fairly well, and arent snippy enough yet to fight with each other.
Then today we continued working on the city. Tom & Jord are really getting in to using the hot glue guns, although we have had a couple of mad dashes to the cold water tap, but no permanent damage!
So todays photos are snippets of our creations (I must admit I think I am getting more into it than the boys!
The playground equipment, my personal favourites!
William also got this little train money box kit which we put together today. It is the perfect proportions for the city, but hasn’t actually left his hands yet!

Sparklers
LOL .. I was trying to snap a picture of the boys lighting a Sparkler, but they only had one, and I didn’t think about it until late so I didn’t have time to set the shot up … nonetheless I find the pictures strangely satisfying!

Hail, Hail and more Hail
Today, right at school pickup time we had a flash storm .. it started hailing .. and then it just got heavier and heavier .. it was truly amazing!

Before and After
Ok, so it is not all fun and games at our house during the holidays. Eventually we have to clean up the mess that has followed the chaotic nature of the holidays. Everybody needs to get used to sleeping back in their own rooms (the little ones sleep in the playroom and watch TV until late), and sort out things for next week.
So yesterday that was our job! Oh boy, the boys were not impressed with this, but I told them that no computer games until it was done. We did have a tantrum from Tom, who ended up having a nap and was much better after that. Even William had a bit of a nap as well, I guess those late nights finally caught up to them.

Tackle It Tuesday
Well its been kind of a flat 24 hours, and although I would prefer to crawl into a ball and watch Star Trek all day on the couch I got up and battled the shops! Yay for me …
Then I got home from Aldi with a trunk full of food and took a good look at the Pantry …
and I had all this shopping to fit in there …
So I rolled up my sleeves .. and now it looks like this (not sure for how long though ..)
